‘Make war not love.. Make love not war.. War is for sissy’s.‘

In this play written by ancient old Aristophanes, one woman named Lysistrata gathers the Greek women of Sparta and Troy. Her goal is to stop the long lasting Peloponnesian War.
The plan? They forbid their men to have sex with them until the war is over.
Could you imagine? No sex at all.

This Greek comedy with tragic influences opens a discussion about war, sex and real girl power. Is it the women that have gone crazy or the men?
Will this plan succeed or does it even get worse?

It is going to be a women-only production. We would need about 12 women with an ability or desire to make beautiful, strong theatre created by text, movement and improvisation.
Ancient Aristophanes lines will be used next to writers from this decade, but also the lines written by the actresses themselves will pass the stage.
The production will play at a special location in Maastricht.

Inschrijven?

Op 30 januari hebben wij een presentatieavond (20u00, Kumulus Theater) waar wij alle cursussen & producties die Alles is Drama aanbiedt in het voorjaar van 2012. Op deze avond komen de cursusgevers & regisseurs ook zelf aan het woord. Aan het eind van de avond kun je je vervolgens inschrijven voor een cursus of productie.
